The workshop, "Fundamentals of Team Science and SciTS: Enhancing Team-Based Research" was held on June 2, 2105, in Bethesda, MD, as a preconference workshop for the SciTS 2015 Conference held at the NIH on June 3-5, 2015.
PowerPoint presentations from the workshop are available online at: http://www.fundamentalsteamscience.org/workshop-slides.html
This day-long event provided a primer on team science and SciTS. This included foundational knowledge of the SciTS field, such as commonly used terminology and conceptual frameworks; a review of the current state of the science in the SciTS field; highlights of key emerging issues; and an introduction to tools and resources available to support, manage, and conduct effective collaborative research.
The workshop was organized and facilitated by Stephen M. Fiore, PhD, Associate Professor of Cognitive Sciences in the Department of Philosophy, University of Central Florida, Director of the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory at UCF's Institute for Simulation & Training, and President of the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research. It was sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
